I had a good time a couple weekends ago working the ARRL DX CW Contest. Made a bit over 200 QSOs, while just taking it leisurely.
This past weekend, I worked a few new countries that I am pleased with…and on several bands and modes. I worked the Solomon Islands, Burkina Faso and Burundi; all new for me. I also received a LoTW confirmation on 40 meter QSO with Tunisia, which is another new confirmation. Up to 181 confirmed DXCC and 221 worked. Most of my confirmations are via LoTW…I don’t work the paper QSL card angle very hard. Probably should.
I’ll be on the air for a limited time this weekend for the ARRL DX SSB Contest, too. Perhaps pick up a few more new ones.
I’m looking around at HF amplifiers…but don’t have the money nor my mind made up yet. Would certainly like a kilowatt if I can find an affordable one. But the call of a new transceiver is also beckoning.
I’ll be traveling – along with the other Noise Blankers – to the Green County Hamfest in Claremore, Oklahoma on March 9. We’ve got quite a large group heading that way.
The “ham hijinks” page is getting great traction and quite a few page views. Hope you enjoy our wacky sense of humor.
Be sure and say “hello” if you see us at the upcoming hamfest!
